Jump Start Yerba Mate Blend Tea

Jumpstart your day with our extra-high caffeine (70mg per serving) Jump Start Yerba Mate Blend. We use toasted mate (pronounced “mah-teh”), which has deep woodsy, vanilla-like flavors as the main ingredient, and combine it with black tea, which presents its own earthy notes, plus cocoa nibs, kola nibs, and safflowers. 

Yerba mate is an herb that naturally contains caffeine with levels greater than tea but less than coffee, and since black tea is also high in caffeine this drink is great when you need a calm boost of energy without the coffee crash! 

You’ll note a pleasant array of sweetness from the safflowers and cocoa balanced with the mild citrus notes of Ceylon tea – a natural foil to the slight bitterness of yerba mate and kola. 

This blend is mildly astringent with a slightly dry finish; try it without sweeteners or add just a touch of rock sugar. Alternatively, we find that the richness of honey adds distinct notes that complement the citrus.
